EdComs – Our audience

The audiences we reach are diverse – children, teenagers, adults, customers, government, opinion leaders, employees, hard-to-reach groups and the media.  We understand how to identify specific audiences that are important top our clients, and engage them in sustainable ways.

“I enjoyed the chance to think up designs and show them to judges.  I feel this has prepared me for GCSE’s and later life – eg if I was to become a product designer”

Student, Audi.

“Adults are boring and I thought it would all be black and white…  makes me think that the Bank of England has an imagination, I never knew that the Bank of England had an imagination. I thought they’d be all boring and plain”

Parents

“I think it is good that BSkyB is involved in the scheme it lets the kids know that someone as big as Sky cares about them and is involved in their health and well being.”

“It is good to see an organisation put something so well planned into the school system and my kids loved it – please do it again!”

Opinion leaders

“We are indeed developing an education pack for schools to promote donation among 14 to 16-year-olds, and that pack will be offered to every school from this September onwards. … there is a real opportunity to make a difference in saving lives if we can extend the organ donation range.”

Employees

“Employee pride in working for Woolworths was a key factor in the company’s original decision to get behind Kids First. Both Kids First, and Playground Partnerships, are about putting the brand at the heart of the communities, in which our employees work and live”

Woolworths

“Our Ghana programme really took off after the internal launch to our employees.  They really got behind the initiative and feel immensely proud to be associated with it. Employee research shows a strong link between our community investment and pride in the company.”

The best training workshop I have attended in 10 years. No issue dodging!”

Teachers

“This resource was a pleasure to use. The pupils were highly motivated and engaged by all the activities. The comic strips, games and tasks were simple to use, but also provided a huge range of teaching and learning opportunities for the pupils to develop their verbal and thinking skills. This is a resource I will be returning to throughout the school year. It provides the Primary school teacher with a wealth of opportunity to develop positive communication strategies within the classroom in a manner that will appeal to all pupils,”

Abigail Davies, TalkDog Online

“I have been very impressed by your website ‘RAFtarget’, the standard of Mathematics is excellent and the interest value for students is superb. I have waited in anticipation for the opportunity to use it with a class.”

Margaret Harkin, IT Co-ordinator and Maths Teacher

“I think they’re [Woolworths] wonderful!”

“It was a fantastic afternoon which held over 100 pupils and their teachers enthralled, with the enthusiasm of the performers, the pupil-friendly way in which messages were put across and the ability of the performers to engage with the pupils and not just talk down to them.”

“EdComs has developed a really superior resource in Streetwise and we are absolutely delighted with the result. At every stage of the project, EdComs staff have been extremely efficient and pleasant to deal with, keeping us on track in terms of timings and leaving no stone uncovered to make sure that the end product exceeded our expectations. We have no hesitation in recommending EdComs highly.”

“We’ve been delighted with EdComs’ work. The fact that our latest resource – the Carbon footprint toolkit – has been requested by over 55% of secondary schools speaks volumes about their ability to think up and deliver hugely successful programmes”

Ian Duffy, BP.

“From the start you’ve been really excellent to work with in every respect and have given me so much good advice and support on developing resources and communicating with schools.  Let’s face it, standards aren’t a very easy concept to get across in an interesting way, but you managed it!”

Liz Williams, BSI

“I am in Geneva at present and have just spent 2 days at CERN at a meeting of particle physicists from around Europe and the States involved in Outreach activities. A small gathering of 20 but potentially very influetial in the physics community.

This morning I demonstrated several of the LHC-related materials STFC have funded and all were well received. However, the meeting was blown away by the website. I was made to feel quite guilty that we had produced something so good by the other members of the meeting. Excellent job. People loved the principal, the look of the site, the video casts and of course the simulator.”
